Cibus has an immediate opening for an Inventory Control Senior Manager. This position will be responsible for establishing procedures and processes for robust inventory control. The position requires a bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, supply chain management, and a minimum of 10 years of experience. A Master’s Degree is preferred. APICS certification is highly desired.

The successful applicant will manage inventory of raw materials, supplies and finished goods across multiple sites. This position will play a central role in establishing a robust inventory management system. The manager will also oversee inventory control staff to ensure that all inventory items are properly identified, and production supply stocks are maintained at all San Diego inventory locations.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Establish inventory management system to track all deliveries, shipments, and stock levels
  • Build and supervise inventory control team to support multiple laboratory and warehouse sites in San Diego
  • Manage schedule of inventory control staff to optimize support of receipts, shipments, and inventory replenishment
  • Analyze supply levels to anticipate inventory problems and shortages and escalate issues promptly to prevent stockouts
  • Monitor demand and analyze data to anticipate future supply and logistics support needs
  • Propose and implement strategies to reduce costs and improve supply chain logistics processes
  • Drive project to select ERP system and partner with Finance and IT to implement and train end users
  • Establish Kanban system at San Diego sites and establish process to maintain and replenish items to prevent stockouts
  • Develop KPIs to track inventory accuracy, inventory levels, supply chain progress; identify and implement process improvements
  • Establish system to manage in-process biological materials from growth rooms and issue to production
  • Coordinate with purchasing team to adjust stocking levels and introduce new items into the inventory control system
  • Promote communications and ensure that all team members and stakeholders are fully informed, knowledgeable, and current with project goals and SOPs.

  • The candidate must have 10+ years’ experience with inventory management, purchasing, and warehouse processes in a life science environment.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, logistics, supply chain management, and a minimum of 10 years of experience. A Master’s Degree preferred. APICS certification is highly desired.
