This position is responsible for carrying out the responsibilities of Cibus' quality management system for seed and trait products.Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have a B.Sc. degree in Plant Science, Plant Breeding/Genetics, Agronomy, or related. Prior industry experience including knowledge of seed and/or trait product development is a plus. Prior experience with quality management protocols associated with seed business objectives is also desired.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Carry out quality assurance protocols with emphasis on seed and trait quality preservation, purity, and final product appearance.
  • Collect, organize, and report quality assurance data on potential seed and trait products in Pre-Commercial development pipeline.
  • Collaborate with production, breeding, and commercial teams to ensure stewardship in sampling, seed increase, seed storage, inventorying, packaging, and shipping.
  • Improve standardization relevant to achieving high quality standards related to seed and trait products.
  • Participate in trait validation and phenotyping assays of trait products from introgression pipeline using greenhouse and/or field testing methods prior to commercialization.

Research Associate - Product Development

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have a B.Sc./M.Sc. degree in Plant Pathology, Plant Science, Plant Breeding and Genetics, or related field and a minimum of 1-2 years' experience working in a research and development environment.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Primary responsibilities include conducting disease tolerance and screening assays on various crop species from the laboratory research environment to growth-chamber/greenhouse research environment.
  • Implement assay strategies to test trait phenotypes.
  • Manage process controls and quality results of assays and improve test efficiency metrics.
  • Implement specific breeding strategies for disease and other relevant traits, including crossing and population development.
  • Manage pathogen culture in the lab including inoculum preparation for disease assays.

We have an immediate opening for a Computational Biologist with expertise in functional and comparative genomics, who can help us revolutionize commercial crop development by safely harnessing Nature's own genetic diversity using our unique, patented RTDS™ gene editing technology. A Ph.D. degree in Genomics, Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Genetics, Plant Biology, or related field, or similar level with equivalent experience. A minimum of 2 years' postdoctoral experience in a research & development environment is required, or a MA/MS degree with a minimum of 7 years of experience, or a BA/BS degree with a minimum of 10 years of experience.

The successful candidate will be responsible for building and applying state-of-the-art genome analysis capabilities to provide genomic solutions at all stages of the RTDS™ pipeline ranging from target discovery and genotype-phenotype relationships to product development and commercial production. Specific tasks will include annotation, visualization and management of plant and microbial genomic data, as well as gene-trait discovery and genome editing applications in agricultural crops. The successful candidate will be a motivated self-starter with a clear vision how their skills can impact trait development programs in agricultural biotechnology.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated ability to independently develop and apply state-of-the-art genomics workflows (from raw data through analysis and visualization to hypothesis generation) to solve complex biological problems.
  • Expertise in functional and comparative genomics.
  • Proficient computational skills with a combination of Python/Perl and R/Matlab, or other languages for programming and statistical analysis.
  • Hands-on experience with genome annotation, (pan)genome analysis, and/or genomic variation (SNP, CNV, PAV).

The position requires a Ph.D. degree or equivalent in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Plant Biology, or related field with a minimum of 8+years of experience working in a research and/or development environment; post-doctoral work may serve as experience. Alternatively, a BA/BS degree with 15+ years of experience or a MA/MS degree with 12+ years of experience is required.

The successful applicant will lead Cibus’ automated high-throughput molecular screening platform supporting its patented RTDS™ gene editing technology. The Group Leader – Molecular Screening will oversee a team of 8-10 researchers, ranging from entry level Research Assistants to Ph.D. level Scientists, who provide molecular screening support for all Cibus R&D activities from the laboratory to product development, including breeding and commercial QA/QC production. Responsibilities of the group leader include ensuring all day to day screening and resource requirements are met, defining and implementing team objectives, managing external interactions with service providers and collaborators, enabling career development success for both direct and indirect reports, as well as building and implementing a long-term technology vision for the screening platform. The position will help to run and maintain an automated platform supporting Cibus’ patented RTDS™ gene editing technology. The successful applicant will be expected to assist with all aspects of the automated workflow including maintaining plant cell cultures, operating a robotic system, and data mining and analysis. Requirements
